welisa - Analysis and Simulation of Electrical Interactions of Implants with Bio-Systems
Funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (German Research Foundation) with 3.3 million Euros for four and a half years, the research training group welisa has started in October 2008. It is planed to have three generations of doctoral scholarships over a period of nine years. Speaker of the group is Mrs. Prof. Ursula van Rienen from the Institute of General Electrical Engineering of the Faculty of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering at the University of Rostock. welisa is one of two research training groups in Germany in the field of General Electrical Engineering
The focus of the Research Training Group are technical implant systems.
The doctoral students of the RTG will have the possibility to do their doctorate at the interface among electrical engineering, materials science, medicine, biology, physics and scientific computing. Along with this, excellent occupational perspectives in research and industry of the medical technology are introduced to the young scientists through the high interdisciplinarity of their research topic.
